Capstone Turbine Corporation, the world's leading clean technology manufacturer of microturbine energy systems, announced today that it has successfully certified to the new ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards.
Last year, Darren Jamison, Capstone’s President and Chief Executive Officer, made the strategic decision to upgrade its certified ISO 9001:2015 Quality and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System to the latest ISO 2015 standards despite a plan to aggressively cut total business expenses by 35%. Certified organizations such as Capstone were allowed three years to complete the transformation to the new standards. However, because the revisions to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 were closely aligned with Capstone’s overall strategic direction, the decision was made to complete the transition immediately.
“The Capstone quality team spent the last year providing organizational guidance in relation to the certification requirements. Additionally, after a week of going through our quality and environmental management systems, our third party auditors from DQS UL Management Systems Solutions concluded that Capstone’s management systems met all of the updated requirements and certified our organization to the new ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards,” said Mr. Jamison.
